Wednesday, November 25
Get into the Chanukah spirit by revisiting the site of the Maccabean battles in Beit Horon. Meet
Yehudit Tayar, world-renown YESHA spokeswoman and take a tour inside and get an in depth
perspective of the “security wall”. Take part in an exercise with the Emergency Medical First-
Responders.
I Travel to the endangered community of Haresha. Meet Zimra Schlessinger and learn about the
legal battle being waged in the courts to save this 12 year old community. From this vista we will
understand the strategic importance of this and many other communities in Judea and Samaria as
we look down on to Tel Aviv and Ben Gurion Airport.
I Enjoy lunch in the once ancient and now modern Yishuv of Shilo.
I Take a guided tour of the First Response Training Center inside Shilo with Avigdor Shatz,
Director of Security for the Binyamin Region. We will be debriefed regarding recent terror attacks in
the area and how the Rapid “civilian” Response Teams play an integral role in the successful fight
against terror. Witness a Rapid Response Team Exercise.
I Meet the pioneers on the hilltops of Kida and Adei Ad and learn about the unique security situation
facing the smaller communities of the region. Receive a personal view of the terror situation from a
victim of a recent terror attack.
I Begin the way back to Jerusalem with a stop in the outpost community of Migron.
I End the day with the award winning wines of the Psagot Winery and meet its vintner, Yaacov Berg.
Monday, November 30
Visit Kever Rachel (Rachel’s Tomb), where Jews from around the world beseech our Mother
Rachel’s intercession.
I Travel down south to Sussia and Maon and meet with Dani Kapach, Director of Security for the
South Hevron Region. Hear an in depth debriefing of the Security situation of this region and meet
with the Response Team Commander for a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and
equipment these teams bear.
I Lunch in the field school in Sussia.
I Explore the holy city of Hevron and its young Jewish neighborhoods. Pray at the Me’arat
Hamachpela and visit Yeshiva Shavei Hevron. Take an inside tour with Eliyau Livman, Director
of Security of Hevron and learn about the delicate situation in which these heroic people live.
I Meet YESHA spokeswoman and former One Israel Fund staff member, Eve Harow in Efrat and visit
the Efrat Security Center where you will witness a demonstration of the importance of surveillance
camera systems for the yishuvim.
I Learn how the first responders train for their difficult task of keeping their communities safe from
terrorist infiltrations at Caliber-3 the Gush Etzion Training Facility.
I End the day tasting the famous wines at the Gush Etzion Winery.
Margalit Frydman, an outstanding guide, will lead the tours in English in a
bulletproof bus. Tours depart each day from Jerusalem's Inbal Hotel
promptly at 8:30am and return at approximately 7:00 pm
